Whats Is 40 Weeks Before February 13

The Lugano-Agno airport and rail connection

Also, and certainly not secondary, not far from Lugano there are 2 major airports (Malpensa and Linate) offering a full range of destinations. Malpensa is also scheduled for the direct rail connection from Lugano, Mendrisio-Varese, Gallarate away. The destinations in Switzerland, then made even closer since 2018, with the opening of the blast AlpTransit, thereby changing, perhaps forever, at least on the flights Zurich.

If maintained, what is the future of the airport? It is clear that the maintenance would result in an increase in flights, destinations and, consequently, the number of passengers. This also means a Any modernization of passenger areas, why not forget the current structures - some old and / or unseemly - are virtually all prefabricated.

need a rail connection? few tens or hundreds of passengers a day certainly can not justify spending for a rail link! With one million passengers a year will still have less than 3000 people a day, a figure that can be considered the upper limit of the airport.

these circumstances, now is the proposal for a rail connection. The satellite photo shows the most efficient, more environmentally friendly and less expensive:

As noted, direct access is guaranteed only from Lugano. Other users of the line (towards Ponte Tresa) should instead change at Serocca.
The proposed solution is minimal yet widely abundant in the traffic that can generate: completion of the double track to the junction after Serocca (a few tens of meters), single-track path and the curve that avoids cutting the grass in front of the farm and skirts, never go beyond it, the channel Barboa, airport station and a single track with only one sidewalk, side channel to be carried out so that it is only a single point for the pedestrian crossing, and the latter is level.
> Here is another proposal that is practical and economical: if anything, there was a need to lower this airport rail link, and all things considered, even for secondary Luganesi (choosing, for obvious reasons [destinations, offering flights, prices, etc. .] other airports, including the head certainly Malpensa), we at least do not throw away money needlessly works too expensive or too large.
