The fund Valley Tassin, crossed by the railway Lugano-Ponte Tresa, is right in the middle of an area rich in elements of high scenic value and tourism.
This is an area that remains quite clear and yet not well known but, in the distant past, was the focus of considerable interest, as it was planned that a funicular railway, which connects Lake (near Belvedere, ca. 275 mt slm ) to Moncucco (416 mt), with its restaurant (or hotel) to the summit. But all was abandoned and forgotten, so that this small mountain, almost hidden in the urban landscape, it is unknown to most of Lugano.
The following photo shows the existing infrastructure today, all in the immediate vicinity of the railway line situated between the galleries and Montarina Cortivallo, or even crossed:

Recentemente è stato aperto il Parco della Valle del Tassino , che collega fra loro i quartieri di Loreto e di Besso. In verità non si tratta ancora di un parco, decisamente ancora un po' misero; piuttosto si tratta di un sentiero proceeds through the woods along the bed of small river Tassino. A pedestrian link through the existing underpass, next to St Edward's Anglican Church, would arrive immediately nei pressi della stazione a monte della dismessa funicolare.
Questa funicolare, più propriamente Funicolare degli Angioli , ancora in esercizio nel 1986, è oggi un altro monumento tecnico che rischia di cadere a pezzi e poi sparire, nonostante si tratti, come ha evidenziato un dossier inserito nella rivista "Il nostro Paese" (n. 274, 2003), di "Un monumento d'archeologia industriale da conservare e ripristinare nello stato il più possibile originale. La conservazione e il restauro della carrozza esistente costituirebbero [anche] una curiosità turistica. La funicolare degli Angeli, con la passerella di ferro sopra via Motta e la stazione a monte, meriterebbero senz'altro, a nostro avviso, di essere considerati un bene culturale della città degno di protezione. La stazione a monte è un piccolo capolavoro che coniuga in modo veramente ottimale tecnica ed estetica [...]" .
Non serve aggiungere altro!
Nella zona si trova inoltre la Fattoria Moncucchetto [ http://www.moncucchetto.ch/ ], un vigneto con cantina propria, recentemente ammodernata, che presenta un indubbio valore culturale, soprattutto perchè in una zona - il Luganese - che ha visto scomparire già fin troppi vigneti. Questa fattoria risale al 1719 ma sin dal medioevo si coltivava qui la vite. Oggi si producono il Merlot, il Ratafià e la Grappa, cioè i simboli stessi che identificano il Ticino agricolo nel mondo. E il tutto a Lugano! Una veloce telefonata ha evidenziato l'esemplare disponibilità dei proprietari a progetti e proposte, magari inserendola in un itinerario eno-gastronomico o in un circuito naturalistico e culturale. Anche se facciamo i conti senza l'oste (e qui è proprio il caso di dirlo), riteniamo eccezionale l'opportunità di promuovere una tale struttura.
Anche se gli accessi verso il Tassino sono ancora da definire, la volontà di fare può senz'altro incoraggiare la ricerca di una conveniente e rapida soluzione.
Nelle immediate vicinanze, a Sorengo, si trova inoltre la Clinica Sant'Anna , belonging to the hospital group Ars Medica. Recently extended, this forms the third largest hospital in Lugano, after the Lugano Regional Hospital and Clinic.
Lakeside, however, there is the Cultural Centre building . The project is well known and need not describe it again here. We hope that the continuing indecision about the final shape and especially the content, attract many visitors unannounced, both for the theater and concerts, both for the art museum that will find a wide home and ultimately (and hopefully complement the artistic heritage scattered city \u200b\u200bstill divided between the City and County). Adjacent is also the Church of St. Mary of the Angels (1515), a true work of art thanks to its famous fresco dedicated to the Passion and Crucifixion of Jesus (B. Luini, 1529). The rear courtyard of the monastery will also be deleted and re-opened to the public.
Pictured below are drawn in pink , the paths present and future (hypothetical but logical) that connect the various facilities described briefly here and in nearby neighborhoods. There is still no connection with the Farm Moncucchetto, to be studied in more detail:
