The new stop-Chapel Agnuzzo

La fermata di Cappella-Agnuzzo, da poco interamente ricostruita , è ubicata al centro di un triangolo ai cui vertici si trovano le località di Muzzano, Agnuzzo e Viglio , pur tutte servite in modo marginale. Un'area non ancora completamente urbanizzata, è vero, ma in espansione (il prato in basso sulla foto ha già lasciato posto a nuove costruzioni abitative), e in una posizione che, non si può negare, può diventare un buon punto intermodale:

• il capolinea della linea (4)33 [Lugano–Càsoro–Carabietta–Cappella Agnuzzo] è già qui ubicato;
• la linea urbana 16 [Stazione–Breganzona/Cortivallo–Muzzano] potrebbe avere qui il suo capolinea, molto più logico, ev. sopprimendo l'attuale servizio circolare e formando 2 linee distinte [16: Lugano Stazione–Cortivallo–Muzzano–Cappella Agnuzzo & 17: Crocifisso–Valgersa–Vergiò–Breganzona–Biogno–Muzzano–Cappella Agnuzzo, vera e propria tangenziale esterna] che addirittura potrebbero prolungarsi, una verso Agnuzzo Paese–Mulini (–Molinazzo), Viglio country to the other;
• Gentilino and Golden Hill are just a few steps from here: a link to mini-or midi to coincide with the trains would allow a fast and continuous connection. Better yet, connect the line (4) 36 [Lugano-Gentilino Montagnola-Agra-] with an extension of Line 16 [or 17, see above] in addition to the core and Viglio Gentilino.

In the above picture [taken from Google Maps] shows the current situation of the new bus stop in Chapel Agnuzzo, after the upgrading works (2007). Sidewalks, long, were placed laterally, but access to it (unfortunately) still takes place through crossing tracks. The station, despite its simplicity, is very modern and already appears as a subway station.

This was the situation prior to the work: to understand a central platform, accessible from one side of the railway line, and can only be reached by crossing the tracks [photo taken from the site FLP].
